Sabre was designed alongside fellow community members as a part of a project meant to be presented to 343i for matchmaking consideration.

The goals of the project were to produce levels that were reminiscent of Halo 2. While designing Sabre, I made an effort to keep Halo 2's style of gameplay in mind.

A big initial problem with Sabre was the map's middle section, which had been critiqued as 'overcomplicated'. Through constant redesigns and tests, I managed to find a working simplified design that managed to maintain functionality and intrigue, while streamlining player movement and flow through the space.
